needed a laugh today. thank you for making me laugh. let's talk about joe biden. he made comments yesterday about the middle class being buried. let's listen. >> this is deadly earnest. how they can justify, how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that's been buried the last four years. how in lord's name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts? >> of course, joe biden went on to clarify. but, ana, paul ryan wasted no time, seizing on those comments. good strategy? >> look, you know, i love joe biden. i don't know how every republican in america doesn't love joe biden. he is a great guy. he's fun. he is the gift that keeps on giving. i miss joe biden. we hadn't heard a gaffe from good old joe in about two or three weeks. it really had been a long time. this is what the campaigns are like today in 2012, unfortunately. we look for gaffes on each other and try to make them real big. i think when joe starts getting earnest, when he starts getting righteous and starts talking about god, watch out, because a zinger is coming out. >> speaking of zingers, t
of debate can we expect there between joe biden and paul ryan? >> fii think if you ask a lot o republican folks, they're looking forward to this more so than presidential debate. they think they have a rock star in paul ryan. he'll have the opportunity to be fully unleashed in that 90-minute session with joe biden. one of the things he said to chris wallace today is he's not a line guy. he's not going to try to razzle-dazzle you with some line that sounds like it's been coined and in his back pocket for a month and a half. he's going to talk about the policies he and mitt romney want to put into play. he knows that vice president biden is going to come after him on his medicare and budget. >> how's he going to respond? >> they're ready. they want to be able to make the case to the american people that the real threat to medicare and its future is the president's affordable health care act, which they lovingly refer to as obamacare, and the fact that the president's plan extracts $716 million away to pay for that. what paul ryan isn't telling his supporters is that his budget proposal also
